Just cleared chapter 3 and finally got the master sword

I remember DE the master sword was broken in the game (especially at full hearts) and it seems that’s the same case here. With that being said I do some research and all I keep seeing is base max damage is 84 or sum. Idk what this means. The base damage on the master sword before upgrading it, is 34. I’ve been using the “prototype ancient short sword” up until this point and it’s at level 20. I’m thinking about dumping all my stuff in favor for the master sword but just want to be sure before doing so.

I see most builds for link include attack speed or attack damage. Usually I would prefer attack damage but seeing as how weak points is a much more focus in this game rather than DE I think I would prefer attack speed to get the weak point down further. So is there any method to do this? Do keep in mind I just finished chapter 3 so I don’t have everything unlocked yet. I have both dlcs tho.
