Can Ash Ketchum learn to be a Master Duelist faster than Yugi Moto can become a Pokemon Master?

Challenge is whether or not Ash would adapt to the Duelist Kingdom rules and all subsequent forms of play throughout the anime series, and if he could do this faster than Yugi or the Pharoah would adapt to the world of Pokemon and become the champions of all the different leagues.
