So, I always wanted to romance Karlach for a full playthrough because she is just so god damn lovable. but i could never get myself to do it because i'm a total self insert type of player, and i just don't find her original design attractive ( Yes, i know that's blasphemy, but it's just my honest truth ).

So after fucking around with mods so much that i accidentally burned my save files. i decided to put those modding things i learned to good use, and created my own tomboy baddie Karlach. And of course, finally give her the love she always deserved for a full playthrough.

At the moment this is not a single mod that i can share, it's just a brainfuck of a handful mods melded together after tinkering with 50 different mods to get this result, which I consider both a complete rework of her design, but also still paying heavy respects to the original.

I actually attempted to try to turn it into a single mod, but i failed miserably since i don't have experience, so i'm just sharing it like this. maybe one day when i have a month to spare i'll figure it out.

Almost everything in the game relating to Karlach works just fine, with the exception of a kiss scene where she basically kisses your chest, because the game doesnt understand she's short now lol. Maybe it would not have been so missmatched if i was not a 7 foot tall half orc.

So The mods that you need to make something like this are as such:

[Sweet Karlach](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/14977) for the body type

[Half-Thiefs](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2538?tab=files&file_id=90355) for her iconic broken horn

[Origin Colo Swatches Unlocked](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/9872) for her original skintone

[Appearance Edit Enhanced ](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/899)for putting it all together ( Here, the original creator of the mod says to never click the companions in the editor, because he did not make it for that purpose, but just ignore him lol, it totally works if you match it to the companion that you are actually editing at the time, and it's the only way to keep her original skin, instead of getting the default thiefling skin with no tattoos, scars of infernal engine )

[Faces of Faerun](https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/429?tab=files&file_id=89851) for this beautyful face that inspires both cuteness and fierceness.

For the haircut, i don't remember what mod it is, but it's a base game asset so theres probably 50 different mods that give acces to it. So you should not have trouble finding it.

The process is simple, select karlach, go in the sculpting escreen of appearance edit enhanced, select the karlach origin, customize as wanted from there ( you might have to switch around between BT1 and BT3 during the customization, some things are a bit wonky, but in the end it all works out )

And of course, all the required mods and fixers that are needed for the previously mentioned mods.

If i were to actually invest into making a full mod with this, or if someone else might do it. i would deffinitely try to make a whole custom BT1 model that has a bit more muscle, to make the emersion stronger. I would also give her the original cat eyes, and fix the skin transition around the neck because the scars end abruptly where her original custom head was supposed to begin. And I would also try to fix the kissing scenes of course.

Although I doubt i'll have the time to do all this, so here's me posting, hoping that someone else who is already more versed in the skillset picks up my torch and creates the ultimate petite tomboy Karlach.

Goth baddie tomboy Karlach and bonus Wasian Shadowheart.
