AirPods disconnecting during certain tasks

Hello, I just got some AirPods Pro 3’s after having the original AirPods for many years. I’ve noticed that my music pauses when I’m shovelling, I thought it might’ve been my toque letting light in at certain angles but it happens with a balaclava as well. It’ll pause once or twice in the 20 mins it takes me to shovel. This is not an issue I had with my other AirPods. I’m using Apple Music.

I also notice that when I’m talking on the phone or FaceTime they’ll randomly disconnect and the audio will transfer back to my phone. I have to select my AirPods again from audio, so the Bluetooth is not disconnected the sound just transfers.

Not sure if these issues are related but if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it please and thank you.
