GlInet Travel Router and China

Wondering if anyone has had any success using GlInet travel routers while in China. I'll be moving there soon. Did it work with their firmware? I have read that protocols like WireGuard and OpenVPN do not work reliably in China and these are the only two protocols that GlInet travel routers firmware support, and a limited version of them at that.
