Do you think Reta (and other similar medicines) will eventually make obesity a ‘solved problem’?
As GLP-1 medications evolve into dual agonists and now triple agonists, it feels like we’re watching a major shift in how obesity and metabolic disease are treated. The pace of progress is pretty wild.
It makes me wonder whether we’re heading toward a future where biologically driven obesity becomes a mostly solvable problem for people who actually have access to these therapies. Not eliminated, obviously, but drastically reduced.
That raises a bigger question: does this eventually turn into an access and affordability issue more than anything else? If the science keeps improving but the access gap stays the same, you could end up with a world where some groups benefit from these breakthroughs and others don’t.
Curious where people here think this is heading. Do you see multi-agonists essentially replacing earlier classes over time, or do you think it becomes more of a split where different groups end up on different tiers of treatment depending on cost and coverage?
