What is your take on smelling like laundry detergent

Our family does very little fragrance at all by choice for better health, so detergent and soaps have no, or very little, natural fragrance that is not essential oil based. Whenever I get a wiff of strong, artificial scents, especially laundry detergent, weather its just someone drying clothes, especially when its someone who smells like it know why; but WHY?

to each their own, I dont think of myself as better in any way due to my choices.
