Letter of Recommendation

I am planning to apply for the 2026-27 cycle, and of course the application requires a letter of recommendation. I was wondering if anyone applying for next cycle has asked their recommenders yet? We haven't had any updates about the applications/when they will open yet (idk if this is normal or not tbh) and with everything going on with Andalusia, I'm a little concerned about the future of the program. I wasn't sure if I should even ask my recommender for a letter before we get any info about the 2026-27 cycle, or if this is normal. Would love to hear what others who are applying plan to do as well as the experiences of current auxes!
