Creature crawling on ceiling

I can't seem to find what I need in how the rules work, so I'll try to describe the issue and ask for clarification on rules.

The hallway is 5ft wide and 10ft tall. The PC is occupying the hallway, so obviously an enemy would need to make a tumble check to get through. The enemy is a small size spider and is capable of crawling on walls and ceilings.

Does the spider need to make a tumble check to go through the players square if it's on the ceiling as it passes through?
