Do Jamaicans have any scientific reasoning behind cooling a hot drink by pouring it back and forth?

If they don’t, then they’re just being stupid. Just HOW does pouring a hot cup of Milo back and forth help it cool off? Do Jamaicans ever do scientific research for once?
