Eczema Q&A: Not improving
Question:
I genuinely have tried everything i have access to try. I've got diagnosed at 3 months old as a baby, and im a god damn adult now, and I've never got a break from eczema. It never fully went away, my eczema is always present, just had periods of less painful and more painful periods, depending on the season and the weather, which i have no control over. I'm tired of my eczema, i don't know what to do, what to try, i feel like I've ran out of treatment options.
Answer:
Hey there, I really feel for you. Living with eczema for so long must be incredibly frustrating. You've been dealing with it since you were just a baby.
Sometimes, our bodies respond to deeper stuff that’s going on beneath the surface. It’s like there’s a connection between our mind and our skin that we don’t always think about. When we have unresolved emotional conflicts or stress, our body can react through symptoms like eczema.
You might be carrying some stress or emotions that your mind didn’t fully process, and your skin is responding to that. Sometimes childhood experiences or ongoing stress can be tied to it in ways we don’t immediately see.
Here are a few questions you could think about:
-
Are there particular times when your eczema flares up more?
-
Has there been any ongoing stress in your life that seems connected?
-
Do you remember any events from your early childhood that were tough?
-
How do you feel about your self-image with eczema?
-
Is there anything you’re holding back expressing?
I know it’s tough, but there might be another way to look at what your body’s going through. Let me know if you have any more questions or just wanna talk more about it!
