Fans of Insomnia - what do you like about it?

Genuinely asking the question in good faith.

I finished it last night and it may be the only SK book I haven't enjoyed. I've been a constant reader for over 20 years, reading over 30 of his books, and have loved some that seem to divide fans, like Lisey's Story for instance.

This, though, I found to be a real drag - beyond the usual slow burn approach that he's usually so good at. And when things do start heating up, it didn't feel worth it.

The characters were uninspiring as well, I thought, whereas they're usually so likeable and you get sucked into their lives.

Anyway, very curious to hear the thoughts of those who are fond of this novel.
