2025/6 Impreza vs Prius

Hey all! I work on the road, and currently am racking up miles on my '14 BRZ. I don't mind, but it's a bit small to haul for months of work at a time. Plus, hitting 150k+, I feel it's time to start considering options.

I do intend on keeping the BRZ and making it more of a toy than anything. I love the car, it's been absolutely great. I've no real reason to get rid of it, especially since at the current mileage I'd only get like 5k for it.

I've considered the Impreza for about 2 years now, mostly because it has a lot of what I like in my BRZ, and all the extra space. Plus, kayaks in the summer. The looks are... eh, but I'm looking to buy for function, and the idea of AWD is nice, at least for the winters in Ohio. And I can't help but be impressed with how well my BRZ has done (apparently, I got a unicorn).

But I have been looking at the Prius as well. I know cargo space is similar, and I know its AWD is quite different (although I have no plans to off road either or try to sled them through a foot of snow). I've done a bit of reading and whatnot, but I like real world experiences and opinions, and so I'm here.

I do plan on "building" what I want online to compare price, and even test driving each, but I'd love to hear opinions. If you're more mechanical, gimme the dirt. If you've owned either in recent years, what were your loves and hates?
