HDB 630 + BTD 700 - Can't switch dongle out of aptX Adaptive

Got the HDB 630 recently and am really enjoying the sound, but the included BTD 700 dongle has been giving me issues. Looking for help as I'm unsure what else to try or if I'm doing something wrong.

• Confirmed in SmartControlPlus that I have audio mode priority set to Hi-Res 24 kbit/96 kHz and restarted my headphones to apply setting.
• Confirmed I am listening through HDB 630 paired to BTD 700. Bluetooth on my Samsung is turned off.
• When listening to music (via Apple Music), the BTD 700 only ever lights pink, indicating aptX Adaptive. A short press of the BTD 700's button does not change to other Bluetooth modes.
