5L V8 or 3.5 Ecoboost

I’m torn between the two. I think Id prefer the V8 for the simplicity and slightly better reliability but I’ve also been reading about delays with repairs to the V8 as well. I’m sure I’ll be happy w either but having trouble choosing between the two.

I’m planning to tow 6500-7000 lb trailer occasionally as well.
