Should my attorney be looking at my settlement agreement more closely?

Hi everyone. I’m hoping to get some perspective from people familiar with employment or contract law.

I’m a plaintiff in an employment case that’s resulted in a settlement well into the seven-figure range. My attorney has generally been fine, but I’ve noticed some issues in the draft agreement - things like tax indemnification language, edits from opposing counsel that shift responsibility onto me, and a few sections he said I was “reading wrong,” even though I don’t think I was.

Lately it feels like he’s trying to get me to sign as quickly as possible, even when I’m still raising valid concerns about the wording.

I’m not trying to bash him at all. I just genuinely want to understand what’s normal. In a settlement of this size, should my attorney be catching these kinds of things and reviewing every clause closely, or is it typical for clients to have to flag issues themselves?

I really appreciate any insights. Just trying to make sure I’m handling this the right way.
