Competition Advice
So i have been training armwrestling for the past 4-5months and i am participating in an amateur level armwrestling competition soon
My current prs are hook curls backpressure 40kg,pronation 32.5kg and riser 25kg.haven’t tested cupping pr though i can do 30kg 3x15reps in wrist curls as well as 30kg 3x15reps in hook curls.
I am 5’10 bw is 70kg i do mma and also have a casual powerlifting background which i do for fun my prs in it are 115kg bench,150kg squat and 185kg deadlift(conventional).
My natural game is posting toproll i feel most comfortable when i pull my lats in and plant my elbow in the pad and engage riser and backpressure and try to pull it towards me then to the pad it sometimes turns in a semi hook type if i get cupped by a hook player but i still manage to somehow win most of the times maybe because my side pressure is decent but
The advice i need is should i stick to posting toproll even though i get cupped in it and a opponent with stronger side pressure may pin me? And also should i try to cut to enter a lower weight class or play in my weight category and also what are the chances of me winning(this is a college tournament though with some decent players) and am i still a begineer or have i reached amatuer status?
