Do fish get brain damage?

Só basically I was putting some tetras in my tank, and. One of them jumped out of the bag he was in, and got stuck out of water for idk how long could have been a minute or 10 seconds, I didn't really see I, when I put him back in the water, he was motionless for like 3 seconds and then he seemed very confused I searched up about it, and apparently he's gonna be fine, pier guy was prob In pain tho because of his gills, is there any risk of it dying?
