[Routine Help] How to heal scabs on scalp hidden under hair?
I was itching my head pretty aggressively the other day and absolutely tore up a part of my scalp towards the back of my head. There was a tiny bit of blood under my nails, so when I saw that I stopped, but it didn't hurt. I didn't realize just how bad it was until later when I felt it again and noticed there were some bumps/raised skin in the area, which felt kind of raw/tender, and then it scabbed over. I absentmindedly picked at the scabs a few times over the next few days, but I've already cut down my nails to stop myself from doing further damage and I've been consciously not scratching/picking the area now.
I don't think anything is infected, but the bumps/inflammation is still there and I'm honestly a bit worried that I did something really bad. I have a bit of a headache/tension/pressure localized to that area now, but it doesn't actually hurt unless I touch it/rub on it, which I'm only doing with clean hands to check on it. How do I heal this? It's WITHIN my hair on my scalp, towards the back of my head, and my hair is very long and thick and covers it all. I want to wash my hair today to clean the area and l think I should moisturize it afterwards, but I don't know what products to use on that part of my head. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I will obviously see a doctor if it gets worse, but I am kinda freaking out about it and I just want to know what I can do to make it better. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
