35F, Continued problems with employer and associated work visa
I am in a foreign country and my work visa is tied to my current employer. I joined this employer in 2022 and it's been 3+ years since they are trying to extend my work visa (my work visa is expiring by end of 2026) but the government is denying repeatedly. The employer tried twice, first time application lapsed due to employer's carelessness, second time application got rejected due to insufficient documents. The employer is planning to apply for the third time in coming next months.
Due to extension applications getting denied, I am not able to get promoted and not able to get a better salary either. I cannot switch jobs either as no other company is interested to hire me on short leftover work visa. I am practically stuck with my current employer for the remaining visa time.
My employer is now transferring me my home country for a year, to save the left over work visa while they try again, this will aid in not exhausting the visa validity completely. But with this transfer, my salary is cut short to 20% of what I make currently.
I feel caged when it comes to employment in foreign country now. My peers are getting their application approved, if I may compare; but something odd is happening with my case. I want to continue my stay in foreign land but things are getting very complicated for me.
My goal was to get visa extension approved, ask for a better salary or find a better job which could value my experience and skills. I sometimes think to move to my home country permanently to avoid having such problems and complications when it comes to stability.
