Totems and Limits

Do we know how limits work in regards to totems?

Like the +2 to elemental from stormweaver does a spell totem spark for example inherit the elemental tag or is it still 1 totem max then because spell totem isnt elemental by default.

Also I assume totem limit is global so 2 different spell totem setups share the global limit of 1 I guess.

Random Bonus Question: does the herald of plague work with gas grenade poisons and does it shotgun? I gas grenade 20 mobs all have poison on them and when like 10 die do they each poison the other 10 or is it always just 1 stack without shotgunning
