Until they change things, you should be able to DC with no penalty and a refund of your Add-Ons and Offering if you load into any Forsaken Boneyard map as Trapper.
Trapper needs way more love, obviously (see my previous posts for my opinions on that), but how am I supposed to have a Power on a map where everything is bright and tan, and my Power is dark red/grey? There aren't even any decent patches of foliage to hide them, they're either out in the middle of nowhere where no Survivor will ever run, or so thin and sparse that they don't hide anything and the trap is still blatantly obvious. I pretty much have to depend on a Survivor playing with their asscheeks with their eyes closed to avoid being a purely M1 Killer on a map that still has some of the strongest loops for Survivors in the game, even after the rework.
See also: Withered Isle (not AS bad, but still too bright, and again, 85% of the foliage is scattered randomly where Survivors have no reason to run), Ormond (not AS bad, as there are enough partially-snowy areas that cause visual clutter to have some hiding spots, but the real problem is the white aura of my traps is really hard to see through all the white of the map, so it takes longer to actually find and pick up all of my Power to be able to actually set traps at all).
BHVR, Victor needs a hat, but the MAIN reason you need to hurry up and figure out how to give Powers cosmetics is so that Trapper gets custom Bear Trap appearances that automatically become active based on the Realm he loads into for a Trial. Give me tan traps with little piles of sand scattered over them for Forsaken Boneyard, give me light-green-and-brown traps with little bits of foliage stuck to them on Withered Isle, give me white-and-brown traps with a rime of frost on them for Ormond. It certainly won't fix Trapper, but it will prevent a Trapper having their chance of victory drop by 75% purely because of the map they load up on.
