Thank you stranger
I’m relatively new to the game so I’m not sure if this type of thread already exists. I’ve only played for a week and only solo but I’m super addicted. Haven’t had this much fun on a shooter since the original halo launched. I see so much complaining about the pvp aspect but I personally enjoy it a lot even though I’ve lost a lot of loot(and time on full round losses at the last minute). It creates so much tension and maybe I’m lucky but I have way more good runs than bad ones. So far most people seem to avoid fights in my runs (though I trust no one and always walk backwards away from people that say “don’t shoot”). The tension also makes positive experiences even more rewarding imo.
Now to the point of this post. I had an amazing stranger help me in the most epic and heroic way with perfect timing and hoped more people would share their positive experiences.
I was farming cooling fans and after hours I finally got my last one. I was dumb and didn’t have a safe spot. Running low on time I had to take some gambles on my pathing to exfil. Unfortunately a Rocketeer locked on me good. As a last ditch attempt to survive I jumped down a hill but got downed by splash damage while half way down the dam. Currently I’m a no mic player but I had seen some people behind me also trying to extract before time ran out so I sent out some random greetings in desperation. A few moments later this legend, CobaltQuacker, comes sliding by me with rockets and all sorts of Arcs blasting behind him. Explosions everywhere, it was insane! Mid slide they somehow manage to revive me and disappear. I miraculously make it and extract successfully with seconds left in the round and a sliver of health.
Heart was pumping real good. 10/10 experience. Thanks stranger!
