My Indian passport has expired and I’m really worried.

It’s been over a month since I submitted my documents for Tatkaal passport renewal at VFS San Francisco, but there’s no update from their end. The expiration date for my old passport has passed in the meanwhile. They don’t have a phone number. Only a contact form, where it keeps saying my application reference number is wrong, and an X (Twitter) handle. I created a Twitter account to communicate with them, but all they say is “Please give us some more time, we’re following up on your case”. My employers need my new passport to add it to my i-9, and I’m really losing my mind. Would going to the VFS office help? I live about an hour away, so I can manage it. I really don’t know where I’m going wrong and why it’s delayed so much, despite filing for a Tatkaal renewal.

Is there anything that anyone can suggest to help me out????
