Just got a new A26 and can't get texts from iphones?

Hi all, I was watching YouTube videos on my iPhone the other day and the screen randomly went black, hardware issue. Not having the money to repair it I grabbed a shifty little samsung A26 that was on sale until I can order a better phone. Got my number transferred with straighttalk but now I can't get texts from any of my friends or Co workers with iphones. I can send texts and pictures and they see them but I don't see anything when they text back. Other workers with Samsung phones I can see their texts just fine. Any idea why I'm not able to see iphones texts?
