Part-time nights advice

Anyone do this? Is it feasible? I’m a nursing student about to enter my third semester and feel like I need to get my foot in the door at a hospital. The thing is I have small children and don’t want to pay for care. I guess my question is are part-time nights hard on the sleep schedule? I know I should feel blessed not to have to work during nursing school but then again I feel like the transition to full-time work will be harder if I go in cold turkey after not working for 6 years (sahm, second career). Thoughts anyone?
