Writing an autistic-coded cupid, how do I do this well and respectfully?
I do not have autism, but I have a series I'm working on that is about a cupid who struggles at his job because he doesn't pick up on social cues and emotions naturally. There is a human who is good at matchmaking who helps him. Obviously, the story centers around the cupid's journey in getting better at matchmaking people, but I also want to be careful not to give the message that he should just "change" how he thinks. Any suggestions on how to approach this character arc, or even what to definitely avoid?
