How to handle a judgemental friend?

Friendships

my friend who i consider one of my best friend for years, has become more and more judgemental in the past year or so.

i told her i spent over $1K on a sporting event as it was a huge bucket list item for me and it finally came to my city, and she just says “that’s so insensitive and such a blatantly gross display of wealth. there are homeless people (we live in a big city), there are wars and people are dying.” and i was really caught off guard cause she knew how important this was to me, literally everyone knew and was happy i had the opportunity to go. the money i spent was something i could comfortably afford as i knew this event was coming. i also didn’t see how anyone could equate me going to this event as being against people dying.

she then tried to backtrack and say it’s a gross privilege display of wealth as we are also supporting Ticketmaster who’s awful (which i 100% agree). she then said it’s also a gross display of wealth because other people can’t afford the $1K. i stood my ground and gently replied “for me the money was worth the experience for me, and it was an experience i really wanted to have and planned for it.” but she kept on going, i knew she was disgusted with how much it cost and how apparently my $1K could’ve helped the homeless and stop people from dying and wars from happening. i don’t deny its a privilege for me but i think by saying “people are dying, wars are happening and people are homeless” felt so extreme

am i overreacting? this event made me reconsider our friendship, not because of what she said but because of how judgemental she was coming across.
