Upgrading weapons is a net negative to stash value

Not sure if it has been mentioned before (probably has) but I wanted to check whether upgrading weapons would be an effective way of increasing stash value. I tested this on a fully repaired Tempest and compared value gain per upgrade level against materials required to upgrade:

Tempest I = 13,000 Tempest II = 17,000 Tempest III = 22,000 Tempest IV = 27,000

Total value gain I -> IV = 14,000

Upgrade I -> II = 4,200 Upgrade II -> III = 5,600 Upgrade III -> IV = 5,600

Total upgrade cost = 15,400

All up you lose 1,400 value, obviously this is negligible and you do gain stash space, but at the end of the day it is better to just sell weapons instead of upgrading first if you are doing the expedition. As mentioned, only tested with Tempest but assume this applies to all weapons.

TLDR: you lose value upgrading weapons, just sell everything if you’re preparing for expedition
