The Darkest Light

Setting silence into the night,

all gather around the darkest light.

Feels of warmth, while being seen,

run down the attraction from your screen.

All will gather, lost and unfound,

feeling the chaos all around.

They crave the calm, the walls that hold,

comfort of silence, forged long ago.

To feel the warmth, without the heat,

for me to carry, with bloodied feet.

Regulate, wash, and then repeat,

leaving pieces across every scene.

Conditional love all around,

except for the one holding ground.

Acceptance comes always too late,

internal damnation is my fate.

Floating where refills are needed,

my heart and soul are rarely heeded.

I hold the storm, I carry the flame,

give them the thrill, but none of the pain.

Take your fill and leave me to rot,

this life is over, so I give what I’ve got.

I spend what’s left and always stay true.

I’ve wasted my shot, so I’ll give it to you.
