Should I keep trying or get a divorce? 24M
So let’s start off by saying I love my wife with my full heart but our relationship over the past 4 years has been half amazing and half a mess. So how our relationship started off is we both matched on Tinder and after I added her on Snapchat she was trying to get close to me from the jump. It had been about a year or so of Snapchat chatting on and off before we actually met at a hotel. After me and her met at the hotel, we decided that we really liked each other so she came over to my house again a week later due to the fact that we lived about an hour and 30 minutes from each other, and we were seeing each other very often I’d also go over to her house and meet her family and everything, after seeing each other for about 2 to 3 months we decided to move in with each other and we got a house for rent with each other and our relationship was pretty smooth in the beginning, and overtime we got closer and closer. One thing that really led me to do some things I regretted was her coming from a very toxic family but I also didn’t come from the greatest family so I understood her pain. I would have to have talks with her just to do basic necessities around the house like chores and stuff because I was kind of left to do it all myself, and those conversations turned into arguments which shouldn’t have because we were both grown adults that should have to do chores around the house because we’re grown. But our relationship got a little bit, rocky from those arguments and conversations of me trying to help her out as an adult as her parents weren’t the best parent and they didn’t help her become a proper adult which I understand there is no norm for that, but at the same time once you get to a certain age, a lot of things or common sense. Our relationship was still pretty good for the most part though and eventually, we move to the opposite end of our state that we were living in for a job opportunities, we now live right down the road from a college town and it’s like ever since we’ve moved out here she’s changed a lot and not in a good way, but back to what I was saying about us arguing over chores around the house, me being sick of that and basically feeling like I’m more of a parent to her than a partner made me cheat on her which was a impulsive decision I made at a bar one night and eventually, she figured it out and I didn’t admit it at first because I loved her so much but after a few months, I told her the truth and keep in mind me and her both knew I cheated it just took me a while to actually get it out because I love her so much and the thought of losing her literally killed me inside. But after I came clean, it’s like a switch went off in her and we stopped having as much sex and I found a picture in her phone of a guy in a police uniform and she proceeded to tell me that it was one of her friends’s boyfriends. Which I knew was a lie from the gecko because you don’t just have a picture of your friend’s boyfriend in your phone and I later found out that she was cheating on me with him. She told me it wasn’t physical, but I’ll never know because she stayed the night as house one time when we got an argument, which makes me feel like she did, but she’s probably lying about it ever since I cheated on her and admitted it it felt like almost she’s trying to just play get back with me, but it’s hard to tell because some days she’ll act like she really does love me and other days she will lie to me about where she’s going and what she’s doing because I have went to check and make sure she went to where she was saying and was doing what she is doing because she had recently cheated on me in the past and I just want to be sure she’s not lying to me again. And last week she told me she was going over to her friend’s house to grab a plate from her house and to drop something off, but I went over by that friend house and she wasn’t there. I also received a notification on my phone saying that she made a Snapchat under her phone number, which was a different name from hers and I brought it up multiple times recently giving her a chance to tell me the truth about it whether it was to see if I was cheating or if she was cheating herself and I told her I’d rather her just tell me the truth because I won’t be as mad if she’s transparent with me, but every time I bring it up, she tries to call me a abusive asshole, and that I’m just looking for a reasons to fabricate scenarios when deep down my gut is telling me that she’s been cheating on me and that she just doesn’t want me to find out because her ego is so big and she comes from a super narcissistic family that uses people but my heart wants to believe that she is a good person and she doesn’t want to be like her parents but at the same time she was raised by her parents and she probably doesn’t know better even though I’ve spent my last four years, trying to teach her right from wrong I just want your guys’s take on this and what I should do. I’m a very good looking 24m and I have a really big heart, but I don’t know how long I can put up with feeling like I’m being cheated on and being told I mean manipulative asshole every time I try and bring up facts of her not being at where she told me she was going to be and facts of her having a separate Snapchat account that is linked to her because I figured out that the email was her same exact email that she uses so it’s her account 1000Percent. Me and her got married almost 2 years ago in March and I’d love to have some other people‘s opinions on this. I want to make it work as bad as I do, but if some of you are older than me and have already been through something similar. I’d rather take your guises advice on it then just live it through I like learning from other people‘s mistakes instead of watching people make mistakes and I do them over and regret it in the end. I’d rather put all of my love into this relationship or just be done with it instead of being in the neutral end of not knowing what’s going on with her thank you.
