Making money from Entertaining Gaming Videos

I have a Gaming Videos channel with over 10k subscribers.
I noticed someone said recently they are making 5-10k USD per month from a Youtube Channel with 40k Subscribers.

I wanted to check with content creators - maybe in this niche or similar and check how viable it would be to make even 1k USD per month with my current channel.

Importantly I havent actually made any videos in years. Its just I used to do a lot of videos and then basically quit gaming 7 years or more ago. But was considering getting back on it - if it could make me money. Or even if it doesnt make much because honestly it was a lot of fun doing that. I had a couple viral videos back in the day with millions of views even on the front page of reddit back then. And it was a pretty great creative outlet. I just don't want to be wasting too many of my hours on it if its not a viable source of at least a little income.
