If a guy doesn't text you is he not interested?

Background: I am a college student, and I met a sweet guy through a mutual friend who is the same year as me and goes to the same college. We met at the end of the term, during finals, so we were only able to go on two dates. FYI: He is a bit introverted and awkward sometimes. At the end of the term, we decided to keep on seeing each other next term, but now we have a six-week winter break, and we live in different states. It has been a week, and he hasn't texted. Is he not interested?
