Short term Scientology rentals in my apartment building - is this allowed?

I lease an apartment in East Hollywood near the blue church of Scientology building. I am not affiliated with Scientology and the building shows no indication of being affiliated with it. I rented this apartment normally, and have a normal lease that does not permit STRs. Since moving in, I’ve become aware that a majority of the units in this building are rented on a very short-term basis to members of Scientology. They stay for a few days, and then someone cleans out the units for the next person to stay. The landlord is aware of this situation and so it must be permissible from their perspective. Out of curiosity, my question is whether something like this (residential units being rented out on a short term basis and these people not staying with someone but rather being given access to the unit as would an Airbnb guest) would have to follow certain regulations under Los Angeles city code or something similar. Anyone know of or experienced something similar?
