Hii i dont usually use reddit but i wasnt sure where else to go to get help on my orchid. Ive had this orchid since probably around august? And it looks healthy enough but i noticed its leaves getting a lot softer (they used to be a lot more rigid and firm). Ive also noticed the roots are turning brown when they used to be a lot more green. I’m not really sure what to do, should I trim the stem now that it’s stopped blooming? I did notice a small stem starting to grow (2nd photo) which I thought was never gonna happen, what should I do to ensure it keeps growing? Should I repot it? I’ve heard it’s best to keep it undisturbed unless necessary but i dont want the rest of the living roots to be affected by the dead ones (if that’s possible). I doubt I need to water it since I think that mightve been why the leaves started getting softer (but i havent watered it in about 2 weeks, so let me know). I’ve also tried some liquid fertilizer right around where the stem is growing which might be the reason for that. I try to keep it out of direct sunlight but is still bathed in sunlight most of the day. Is it possibly that my room is too cold? If thats the case, I’m not allowed a heater, so how could I help it then? Sorry for the rant I just really want to keep this flower alive!! Any suggestions are welcome :,)

Help how do i keep my orchid alive
