ENG-390 JOURNAL 2

The use of LinkedIn in this class was very interesting; it taught me how to portray myself in a professional setting, like what I should talk about to show what I'm interested in. What's on my profile is my name and how I'm a university student, as well as that I'm interested in medical school. I also gave myself an about section about what I'm studying and how I hope to go to a bigger university to pursue medicine and my specific interest in invasive cardiology. Some of the skills I put on there were chemistry and biology; I have an extensive background on the subject. The informational interviews were interesting; they showed me how to conduct myself if I were actually trying to get information for, like, jobs or recruitment for a company. Basically, how this assignment went was you asked a person on LinkedIn using, like, a professional, maybe like computer science, medicine, etc., and you asked them what kind of writing they did. That was the goal, to get them to explain how they did writing and if they enjoyed it or not. You were like, "Did they use documents, write emails, do publications, or maybe songs?" Even the questions I asked were the following: Good evening, my name is Blank, and I’m a senior at Blank and Blank, and I would like to ask you questions about your job and if you do any writing in your respective field. I'm interested in learning how different fields do writing and exactly what type of writing happens.

What type of writing do you do for your job?

What is your writing process?

Do you enjoy the writing you do?

How frequently would you say you write?

This is what I asked, and the explanation for why I was asking these questions was overall very interesting.
