AIO- Indian boyfriend hasn’t reached out while visiting family

My boyfriend and I have had a steady serious relationship for just over a year and a half. There have of course been some misunderstandings mainly because of cultural differences, but we have always sat down and talked it all through. Before he went home to visit his family he had told me that he hopes to marry me one day. He will be gone for approximately 1.5 months. Before he left he did tell me that his family will require all of his attention and that it would probably be a little while before he is able to contact me. I was expecting a few days, but it has now been 2 weeks. I will say there has been no activity on any of his social media accounts, which he was very active on before leaving. I have of course gone back and forth between being convinced he has died, he was just being a coward and didn’t have the balls to break up with me, or that it really is just that his family is extremely traditional and they live in the middle of nowhere with very limited internet accessibility. He has never given me a reason to doubt him, and his last message to me was that he loves me, will miss me, and can’t wait to see me when he gets home. I truthfully just want to trust him, but everyone around me is telling me I’m being delusional. Am I overreacting, would it be strange to reach out to his cousin to ask if he’s okay?
