Fear of regret + lack of dysphoria right before top surgery?

Advice Wanted

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I’ve identified as agender for about 8 years now, I’m 26. I used to bind for events/outings, but rarely more than that more as a comfort thing (I always wear loose baggy clothes, sweatpants, etc) but I’ve never been happy with my chest. I actually passed pretty well and would get gendered as male in public even before starting T 10 months ago.

I had a top surgery consult in May, scheduled my surgery for December…tomorrow. And exactly a week before my scheduled date, the thought suddenly appeared in my mind; what if I’m actually a woman? What if I’ve been pressuring myself to present masculine for years based on the identity I thought I had? I know logically I’ve had dysphoria for years, but I’ve never been less dysphoric than I’ve been this week. Just this week, suddenly I’m scared I’m going to regret this surgery, that I’m actually fine with my breasts.

For reference I have autism and possibly OCD, horrible decision paralysis, and a massive fear of change. All rational thought points toward this; that I put the effort into getting here, that I’ve never liked or shown off my boobs, and that I’ve been terrified before decisions before and then been glad I made them afterward. But right now I can’t emotionally put myself in those shoes. Right now I’m scared that this is not just my brain making up new ideas to try and get me to quit and hide in normalcy instead, that it’s actually some sort of clarity.

When I try to picture myself post-op it feels wrong— but is that because it’s different and not the “Me” I know myself to be, or is it because it’s actually not the right thing?

Just wondering if anyone else had this paralyzing indecision only right before their surgery. Thanks guys
