Seller listing limits by dollar amount - help?

HELP

Background: I’ve been on eBay since 1998 or so. I had about 700 feedback, as I mostly have bought, with a random sale here and there. I’m now looking to downsize and stated selling off items in earnest, many collectibles.

I listed about 100 items over the last few days. Most have a starting bid value > $100. I went to add more items yesterday and got a message that I wasn’t allowed to - that I’d reached my seller limit. I knew it wasn’t quantity-based, as I keep getting advertisements for selling 250 items with no listing fee/month.

Finally I get to a page where it shows $0/$15000 remaining. But I can’t figure out whether the $15K resets.

So I google. No luck. I call eBay support. After being passed to 3 people, they tell me that my limit increase request is being processed. But I didn’t ask for a limit increase. I asked if the limit resets.

And nobody at eBay seems to be able to answer that question. They just wanted to keep telling me that I could ask for an increase on 1/1/26 after a month has passed and my account performance can be reviewed. So I asked if, on 1/1, I would be able to list another $15K. They had no answer. And they couldn’t explain how the $15K was tied to my asking first bid price (because how does anyone sell higher-end things… jewelry or cars?)

Does anyone here know for sure? What are the specifics with these limits? If a transaction “clears” (positive feedback sent/received), does that put that item’s value back into play?
