Should I release singles without having a finished album?

I have been working on an album release since February of this year, and still have a decent amount to finish. I have only ever released one song. That was 2 years ago. I want to have a better shot at gaining an audience, but I truly don't have much experience in that. Would it be best for me to start planning single releases now? Even with no album release date in mind? I get scared it'll be too much time in-between that eyes on the album release may drop significantly. I am in the darkwave-industrial circle to be specific. I know that in order to gain traction anyways I will have to find ways of promoting and do music videos and all that stuff, so I know views may be limited, I just want to give myself the best shot if that makes sense. I am open to any advice! Thank you!
