How to get my kitten to stop biting?

Hi! I have a kitten that’s around 8 months old. He loves to be with his humans and is such a love bug, but he has been biting more these past few weeks and it hurts pretty bad. I’m wondering if he’s still teething? I found a few baby teefers a few months back but haven’t found any since then. Does anyone have any tips for how to get him to stop biting us (and our cords 🙃)? We’ve tried imitating a cat yowling in pain and even hissing which worked for a little but now it doesn’t phase him lol. He was also the only kitten found with his mama cat so I think that could be a factor.
