Polar AMOLED screen brightness in the dark

General question

Hello,

I’m considering buying a Polar watch, since I think it excels at training and recovery metrics. Specifically I’m looking at the Grit X2 Pro, coming from two Fenixes over the last few years. However I haven’t had any AMOLED watch thus far.

So, maybe I’m splitting hairs with the question I’m about to make, but here we go: how bright is the screen in a completely dark room? Let’s say the watch is in do-not-disturb mode, I wake up during my sleep and press the button to check the time. Does it blast you with a fully lit screen? Garmin and Apple have Red Shift/Night Mode settings that make the screen much less obtrusive at night. I understand the Grit X2 Pro has an ambient light sensor—does it actually dim the screen significantly in a dark room, even with brightness set to High? For those who wear it to bed, do you find this to be an issue?

Thanks very much in advance!
