Ability to 'select' friendly Vs non-friendly servers. Would this work?
I understand people not wanting to 'split' the player base/matchmaking but I'm sure I can speak for many who've gone into a raid either to try takedown a queen or knock out some of the larger ARC for trials - it sucks when you do everything to avoid PvP and solely focus on ARC to just get shot in the back from some randomer out of the blue. And just like that.. your precious goop is gone.
I think if embark added an option to go into a 'friendly' raid you could have more chances to team up with other solo's, duos or trios and work together. As things stand, especially for trios.. it's fully SOS. Here's the catch: PvP seekers could still enter this to try take advantage of those seeking to be 'friendly'. However, if you engaged in PvP once or twice in these friendly 'lobbies' then you would then sent to more PvP heavy lobbies for X amount of time. You still get your goop from backstabbing, but now are on a 'cooldown' before you can prey too much on the weak or the naive.
This also gives those who seek the rush of PvP to chose to enter those lobbies where it's aggression from the get go. Perhaps they could add improved loot for these aggressive lobbies to reward those bloodthirsty risk takers.
What do you think? Would it make it too easy for those on quests/trials? Am I just being butthurt about losing all my stuff despite being in the very corner of Dam trying to take down a rocketeer? Would this satisfy the bloodythirsty going into a lobby knowing it's with like minded killers?
Generally, my fear is that people are getting too ratty & less cooperative. This game was so much fun to me when I first picked it up and actually teamed up with other raiders. For now, I feel it's lost a lot of that fun and has become increasingly more SOS & sleazy rat tactics. I believe it will ruin the game if the player base becomes too toxic & paranoid.. it feels like we're heading that direction.
