Why are the worst parts of rs subs always like this?
If they are so cool and detached, why they talk so much about being "normal", cool and popular? Like, actual average successful people do not do this, instead many try everything in order to seem quirky and different from others. They say they hate internet and culture war shit, but it's everything they engage with. So many incompatible views, t's honestly so weird. For a while i thought it was like different people with different views but this is really not the case.
I think they are a bunch of nerdy, weird and terminally online people who long for being normal and cool, sometimes like to feign it, and who have a noble savage view of their own version of "normalness" and "coolness". That's why you'll see posts like "life is intrisically beautiful and mystical you should enjoy it" with no elaboration " (it fits their idea of coolness and normalness which they like to sometimes dwell into) next to a post like "the blackpill is real for everyone, incels are just ahead of the curve and society makes them pay the ultimate price for it, anything contrary is simply cope" (if fits what they really believe in).
That's why half the male posting you'll see is composed of guys desperately worried about looking masculine and being intimidated by other men to a pathetic level (they are really worried that the average tradie dude they have a noble savage view of and never actually interacted with seems more masculine and therefore more normal than them). That's why the little female posting it still has is composed of weird artsy girls also worried about what others think of them to an insane amount. A bunch of weird men who want to be "chad" and weird women who want to be "stacy" trying to one up each other on the matter of who's more cynical and detached about it. It's a pit of insecurity, cynicism and self-pity that's actually kinda dangerous because unlike other weirdo communities, they hide their fucked-upness somewhat well under the cool ironic blasé facade and you can't really tell how weird they are til you are deep inside.
