Nintendo Switch Items Limit

Hi all, I’ve just started playing on switch and I love how the game is portable on the console. Only I’ve seen that the switch has an item limit compared to the other platforms. I just would love to know if this really can affect the overall experience on the Switch or if I can play without thinking too much on this thing? Thanks a lot for the help!
