Mildly Infuriating: Remote Start
I just realized the other day that my Kona has remote start. This wasn’t advertised when I bought the car about one year ago, and I was pleasantly surprised.
I’ve learned, however, that when you start the car with the remote start button on the key fob, it turns on your car but will reset your temperature settings. If you start the car by getting in the car and pressing the ignition button, the car will start and the temperature settings from the last drive will be restored.
I can only assume this is so Hyundai can get drivers to pay $9.99 a month to use the Bluelink app. Without the app, you can only start the car but cannot turn on any heat without getting in. It’s really disappointing that Hyundai went out of the way to squeeze more money out of costumers like this.
Has anyone else noticed this? Are there any other things you’ve discovered about your Hyundai that were mildly infuriating?
