Can you apply for Youth Allowance while overseas?

I start a uni course March 2026 and want to claim Youth Allowance for its duration. but I am travelling overseas for 2 months this summer.

I was hoping to apply for YA while overseas. So that when I come back to Australia and start my course I can immediately begin receiving payments.

I can’t find a good answer online. Anyone know if this is possible?
