The pending conflict in Venezuela is basically a subsidy for big oil companies
I think its clear to everyone the military escalation in Venezuela is about oil, not drug cartels. That PR spin seems to be collapsing on its face. But there's another contrast that has struck me about this.
Just a few months back, Trump's admin cut $8 billion in grants for green energy projects across the country--such as the Revolution Wind project off the coast of Rhode Island, and hydrogen projects in the pacific northwest.
The argument they attempted to make is that if green energy is the future, the free market will sort it out. Government subsidy is unnecessary waste.
Yet, Big Oil is receiving a much larger, more insidious form of subsidy: a government back military conflict.
