I enter the keycard into the door, room 4711. The lock beeps and I hear the deadbolt slide open as I turn the handle and swing the door open to my room for the next few days.

Walking in, I take in the clean and spacious room, the king bed, a small couch, a table, and a big flatscreen TV. Setting my suitcase down, about to unpack my clothes, I get a text from you.

“Hey! What floor did you get? I’m room 4720”

Smiling, I text back “4711, looks like we’re practically neighbors”

Waiting for you to respond. I continue to unpack my belongings and get situated. Taking a peek at the time, I see our staff dinner is in a couple of hours. We were going to be here for a few days, team building and whatnot for our yearly staff retreat. Everyone is pretty new to me but you and I have known each other for a few years now and become pretty close friends outside of work.

“Looks like it! Would you wanna meet up and head to the dinner together?”

“Yeah, meet up at my room at 7:45” I send back receiving a heart reaction to the text.
