have had a GERD cough for a month now. any help appreciated.
hey folks. so about a month ago I got this terrible dry cough. I called my telehealth doc and he put me through the ringer with meds that assumed it was a respiratory issue. 2 rounds of antibiotics, 2 rounds of steroids, tessalon perles, prescription cough medicine, asthma inhaler, flonase, etc. Cough wasn't getting better no matter what. I finally realized that it started the day I had something super stressful happen and that ive also been eating like crap and finally narrowed it down to a GERD cough.
it's now DEFINITELY a GERD cough. i'm on omeprazole and famotidine, which somewhat to mostly controls it unless I really stress myself out or if I eat trigger foods, especially pizza or anything spicy or with tomato sauce, or coffee.
I'm incredibly sick of coughing and I need this go away. I now also have crazy bad heartburn that wakes me up at night.
What can I do? is there anything else I can take that will help? what should i eat? HELPPP
